Where is Sand Springs Venue located?

We are six miles West of Abilene on Deer Road, just North of Old Highway 40.

Do I need to schedule a tour, or can we just stop by?

We kindly request that all tours are by appointment only. You can request a tour here.

How Do I Reserve a Date?

To reserve a date email us at sandspringsvenue@gmail.com saying you are ready to book XYZ date if it is still available. We suggest you email us stating you are ready to book your preferred date and then include a backup date in case your preferred date is unavailable. Prior to booking a date, we hope you are able to come out in person to visit the farm. You can request a tour (or a Facetime tour if you live out of the area) on our tour request page, but an in person tour is not required prior to booking a date. Dates are reserved on a first requested basis. Whomever has requested to start the contract process from us by email first for a specific date will be first in line.

Is there a deposit?  When are the additional payments due? Do you offer a payment plan?

Yes.  When the contract is signed, to continue holding the date, we require a $500 deposit. We then figure up your balance and divide that by however many months before the month before your wedding date. That gives you your small monthly payment due by the 15th of each month. You may decide to pay it in larger payments if you wish, just so you know there is no refunds on any payments already made. There is a $250 refundable damage/cleanup deposit included in those payments as well.  We also reserve the right to request a credit card on file for any damages to the facility or grounds.

How many guests does the venue hold?

We have accommodations for up to 250 guests, plus a patio area that can hold overflow.

Are Children Allowed to run free on the grounds?

We LOVE kids and want all children to have a good time and parents not to worry. However, we have spent a lot of time and money making the grounds look as lovely as you would want on your big day, with plenty of flowers and shrubbery. We want all brides to have that so we kindly ask that the children are not allowed in ceremony area after the wedding has finished and that they do not climb through the landscaping.

Is parking allowed on the grass?

No parking is allowed on the grass. Or on the road. There is a designated parking area marked with signs.

Do you offer straight tables or rounds?

We have a limited number of rectangles tables that can be used as head table, gift table, food table etc.

Do you provide catering?

We do not! If you would like information on local caterers, photographers, DJ's, etc. one is provided, see link below. However, you may choose the vendors of your choice.

 

What is the rental fee and what does it include?

We plan to have our ceremony offsite, or only plan to have our ceremony at Sand Springs. Does your fee change?

Because we only host one event per day, our fee structure remains the same whether you hold your ceremony, reception, or both onsite.

Will there be another wedding on the same day?

Sand Springs will only host one wedding each day to ensure each couple’s event is special and they receive our full attention.

What happens in case of rain?

It is an easy adjustment to make accommodations for the wedding to be moved indoors.

Is the venue climate controlled?

Yes! The venue includes heating and air and is prepared for warm Kansas summers and chilly winters. In case of bad weather the wedding can be held indoors.

Can we have fireworks on the property?

NO fireworks are allowed. Due to all the cedar trees and tall grasses, our insurance does NOT allow for fireworks. This also includes sparklers.

Are candles allowed?

Yes, candles are allowed as long as the flame is completely contained in a candle holder.  Tapered candles and any type of hanging candles will not be allowed for safety reasons. 

Can vehicles be left overnight?

YES vehicles can be left overnight. Please advise your guests of this policy. We would rather they be left than someone drive that should not be driving. However if there is another event the next day the vehicle MUST be removed as early as possible.

Are tables and chairs included?

Tables and chairs are included in the rental pricing.

Do you allow dogs onsite to play a part in our wedding day?

We are dog friendly, with some specific stipulations. Dogs are allowed (only with pre-approval by Gina) at the ceremony and pictures. Animals, other than service animals, are NOT allowed under roof or near food. Dogs must be on a leash and someone must be responsible for them other than the bride and groom.

"Gina who owns Sand Springs was absolutely awesome she went out of her way to do anything we asked or even things we didn’t ask she is absolutely amazing the place was beautiful and everything went great. With only two weeks to go and a frantic bride she even came up with a an officiant to perform my daughter ceremony. I can’t say enough about the officiant she was professional she acted like she had known them forever it was just amazing. Gina’s daughter, because we could not find a bartender, took care of that. Her and her husband were also professional and amazing I honestly can’t say enough wonderful things about this Venue. I would highly recommend it"
